I was reading about some porn performer who apparently had some name recognition, and her entire “career” in the industry took place over a single weekend.

it’s that it makes games with clearly politically charged premises but does absolutely nothing with them because it doesn’t want to piss anyone off.

I admire the idea of a Vietnam War game depicting every side of the conflict equally.

Seems like anything you can’t google or otherwise can’t find some proof of legitimacy should be taken with a grain of salt

What game company doesn’t have a web presence?

a company that literally had ZERO internet footprint. That’s 99.999% impossible in 2019.

Presumably the indie game was essentially an unfunded game start-up, with everyone working under the understanding that they would get paid once the game got released. (The problem being, most indie games don’t actually make any money.)

Maybe someday these guys will find jobs with a real game company... and then have the same thing happen to them. I’ve been lucky but so many of my friends and colleagues in the game industry have similar stories - not from start-up scams, but companies they had been working for for months/years. Paychecks wouldn’t go

They also smother children in their sleep.

I was vaguely imagining a detective show like that French series that’s all viticulture-related murder mysteries, but Trekish.

I think we can take it as read that Ferengi have no taste and are therefore unreliable in such matters.

I... don’t know how to respond to that assertion. If you were really paying attention, you would have realized that it was completely non-linear and all the POV narrators were utterly unreliable and that, therefore, there was no way to know what was “actually” going on at any point in the series. But if you’re not

I’m kind of disappointed by this. I had hoped the entire show would just involve Picard in his vineyard, making wine.

The US Nazi Party flag is just the familiar swastika flag taken from the German Nazi party. But they have always, consistently, flown it alongside the “Betsy Ross” flag at events and their headquarters. Other neo-Nazi and white supremacist groups regularly fly the flag. In recent years, the new American Nazi party has

Just because some assholes on the internet started a rumor that gained traction among other assholes doesn’t mean it’s a real thing.

If there is any time to reclaim it, it’s before it really gains traction as a racist symbol.

the way she phrased it is pretty tone deaf to history

Except she’s trademarked it for use more generally with clothing including actual kimono. So she’s taken a word that literally just means “clothing” and is using it for clothing, including the specific style of clothing that it has traditionally described. The problem of a trademark becoming generic is a pre-existing

just shows a real piss-poor attitude
