Yeah, maybe the driver mis-estimated the truck’s closing speed and/or the capability of the vehicle he was driving. He certainly wouldn’t have done this on purpose.

People are individuals, and we typically possess the same kind of traits regardless of where we come from. There are plenty of people who come here illegally to take advantage of our system, run drugs, etc. In my experience that is a very small percentage, and most just want to scratch out a living for their family.
It seems like there could be a compromise here. Obviously the cost of living for the migrants is much lower in their home country, that even with the paltry pay that we provide them here will make it worth risking their lives and time to come work. We can’t pay Americans the low wages because not only of minimum wage,…
But doesn’t rapidly raising wages just spur more illegal pay? If you raise the wage past what the employer can really afford without causing rapid inflation, they would just hire more illegals to pay $2/hr, thereby increasing situations like these.
Hey, maybe the guy’s racist, maybe not, but let’s get real. There are only two real possibilities for what happened: either they were smuggling illegals, or transporting migrant workers to or from a job. They certainly weren’t going sightseeing, or to a birthday party. The fact that Border Patrol is getting involved…
I’ve got stories for days from that place, but they are more suited for sharing over a beer than typing thousands of words. It was in a bad neighborhood, and we had some really unseemly customers that liked to pay in cash. Mostly 5's and 10's.
I guess I’m not at the level where I see $1000 as pocket change. Good for you on your financial success tho.
Some type of aftermarket seat would be an option for sure.
Man, the E46 really hit teh sweet spot. It was hard edged where it needed to be, and had just slightly softer corners where the E36 was too sharp. Every line worked together in harmony. All of the lights integrated seamlessly into the bodywork. There was not a single part that looked out of place. It’s handsome from…
Really good info here mate. Most of my commute is on the highway, and it’s either really hot or really cold here. I don’t think I could make 100 mi work. I had no idea about the Niro, or E-Niro. I’ll seriously research them, as they seem to be in the same price point as Volts and Bolts. I really do appreciate your…

Fuck, I need to update my Linkedin page then.

Yeah, I worked at a shop where we stripped cop cars and FBI cars for sale after their duty was done. We also stripped and cleaned seized cars to become DARE cars. You can’t have police insignia or funtioning police equipment in a driven car. It’s a federal crime, and a felony at that.
LOLZ. That is all.
Really? If it’s got about 150 mile range, I could make the E-Golf work. I’ll definitely look into it.
Outstanding. Thanks for the feedback. I’m tall, but not wide, so I’m okay with narrow seats. I’ve added a lower lumbar support to a couple of cars. You can do it for about $100 and a few hours of labor. Maybe that’s an option for me. I’m getting more interested by the day.
Absolutely. Although a little more useful. But not by much.
Yeah, anything over 150 miles is fine by me. I’m just concerned about the room inside as I’m fairly large.
Yeah. I just for shitzengiggles looked up used bolts under $20k and found a ton with just ~~30k miles for $15-18k. Wow. I might just go look at some.
