OK, but how many voters actually live in Madera County anyway? I’m guessing two ranchers and a meth entrepreneur.

I just heard a story on All Things Considered about a modern day community founded on these principals. My first thought was, this is a quirky take on colonialism.
You left out:
I have no idea why, but the fact that the founder of college humor’s name is Ricky Van Veen is making me very (smug) happy.
Come to think of it, being transported to a world where dreams and hopes are dying is an accurate reflection of 2016.
Obama family home movie remakes of the neverending story might be the best idea for him when he leaves office.
Megan Trainor and sketchers is weirdly perfect. Both are mildly irritating, but you learn to half tolerate if you work in food service long enough; both are things you forget about until you walk by an outlet mall in the suburbs.
Kaczynski every time. Fun conversations about WVO Quine, he probably leaves for his cabin halfway through the semester anyways, he probably doesn’t care about your dildo. What’s not to prefer?
Oh jeez. I didn’t even notice. What the hell?
“I did everything I could have and more” WHAT DOES THAT EVEN MEAN? YOU DID MORE THAN YOU COULD? HOW?!*
I always weirdly loved group projects in undergrad. I am an overthinker so having people around to sort of bring me back down to earth (“y’all, let’s read all of the literature on this needlessly obscure Leibniz text, just because!”) was good. Additionally, when I did encounter truly dead weight group members, I found…
I honestly think Wuthering heights is great or not depending on the degree to which you think Bronte is aware of how messed up the whole thing is.

My tendency here is to feel like this is a tempest in a teapot; the actor was apparently unhappy and wanted to leave the show and so, like Matthew of Downton Abbey, a sudden direction change seems inevitable. But, I don’t watch this show and maybe it was totally craven.
I will have to look for Richard Rohr’s work! Thank you for the recommendation!
Holy hell even my grandmother’s email forwards are less sanctimonious than this ad. I did not think it was possible to so efficiently communicate the idea of someone sneering with just a tone of voice.
So, I’m Episcopalian (Catholic after a bong hit) and while it’s totally great that Francis is taking these little baby steps, it’s always also good to be reminded that a goodish part of dealing with Christian theology is moving past the ridiculous “love the sinner hate the sin” thing to something like enjoying the…
Lost was only purgatory for its viewers.
Holy Moses! “Conveyance”. I’m dying. Is this man a sovereign citizen of what words mean?
