My mom worked for a couple who did this. He was an anesthesiologist and the wife ran the clinic. It turned into a huge clinic that got bought out by a fancy hospital, so these people were mind-blowingly rich. The wife told my mom they had six kids because they believed they owed the world for being rich. Those six

This looks like a job for Aquaman.

This was interesting to read.

I just want to throw something out there, in anticipation of the comments about how no one is forcing these people to write, ect.

I’m curious as to when anxiety became this thing that absolutely everyone is diagnosed with. I think everything like that falls onto a spectrum, but the “anxiety” end seems to be getting bigger and bigger to include more behaviors or feelings that are otherwise completely normal.

Sadly something we’ve had to go through 5 times in total ( finally had three genetically tested and found chromosomal issues- IVF for us)

I have complicated feelings about Jennifer Lawrence. I don’t think she’s putting on an act, but I do think that the media choses to obfuscate the reasons for her swearing, drinking, and oversharing by packaging it as “relatability” and “realness.” I think she might actually be pretty unhappy, and I wonder how she’ll

What I want to know is which middle-aged woman she’ll be playing next...

I am a fan of Jennifer Lawrence, just to preface, but I’m also pretty cynical about how Hollywood markets celebrities (especially women). I think women in Hollywood are forced to define themselves differently than men (I know, I know: read more of my thoughts in this month’s New England Journal of Duh) but that

Hi! I did noom, which is an app-based program. They put you into different programs based on what you’re hoping to achieve and you have both a personalized coach to talk to and a group. Similar to myfitnesspal in terms of how the food works (i.e. calorie restriction) but I found the coach to be really really helpful.

ITA, I’m a fast walker and hate it when I get stuck behind a slow-moving group but if it does happen I will walk around them (stepping into the street if I have to). I don’t push people into traffic.

This is assault. I understand getting annoyed by slow walkers or people who seem to have no destination in mind, but Jeeezus. He has all the room in the world to navigate that sidewalk. This is just inexplicable.

Sidewalk etiquette? Dude has plenty of room, as mentioned. Also she’s walking on an angle to give him more room. As a frequently disgruntled jogger who wishes the world would put more effort into sidewalk etiquette, I feel pretty confident he just wanted to push a woman in front of a bus.

I’m a guy and I shake men’s and women’s hands in professional settings unless someone is clearly indicating a preference for some other greeting (hug, fist bump, head nod with no contact, etc.), in which case I’ll try to follow their lead regardless of gender. But I did recently notice that I would sometimes do a

If someone is commenting on how firm your handshake is, they’re likely trying to discreetly tell you that you’re handshake is TOO strong, regardless of your gender. I work in a professional environment with executives, and an overly firm handshake always comes across as aggressive and offputting, whether it’s coming

So much disordered eating going on. So painful and chilling to keep reading about these “cleanses” and “raw food” diets etc...my sister died about 13 years ago from regular old anorexia but today she would have sipped spinach juice on and off all day with similar results and been lauded for it.

A number of denominations believe that salvation is out of human control. So I would imagine those groups would have reason not to focus on it all that much. Also a bunch believe that what they are doing is gods will.

Eh, she could have just not put on much weight and had an irregular cycle. I mean, there was an entire TLC series about women not realizing they were pregnant until labor.

If they’re describing women as 5'10" 120#, that’s a dead giveaway right there.

I have never read a book written by a man that fooled me into thinking it was written by a woman. As soon as they introduce the female characters, it always becomes painfully obvious. It’s bad enough female writers have a harder time getting published, now these assholes want to capitalize on one of the few categories
