“We ran the tag; I’ve never seen it before with a Florida tag. It didn’t come back to anything, so that’s the reason for the stop.”
Was she recording? It seemed possible that’s what she was doing with her phone. Smart move, if so.
Is there any way to find out the actual manufacturer for the stuff they sell? I don’t care about brand per se, but I try to avoid buying cosmetic or household products if I can’t verify that they’re cruelty free.
Yet Hermione fully accepts the one-way segregation of muggles and wizards. She’s happy to spew her magic all over England, but the moment a muggle sees it, their memories must be wiped. And she’s definitely not using her magical position to promote muggle voices in magical spaces.
We shouldn’t be surprised that a school that doesn’t teach math, evolution, drama, or civics does bad things.
I like how nobody is stating the obvious here.
Yup! Had my ears pierced as an adult once using a gun, and two more times with a needle. I had no kids at the time, but I was immediately sure I would never, EVER get my kids’ ears pierced with a gun now that I experienced getting pierced properly by an actual professional. The difference in pain and healing is…
I went to a piercing salon for my helix piercing and the devotion to sterilization was impressive. It was just a pinch and took no time. It was expensive but worth every penny - my piercing is beautiful and has been healing wonderfully.
I had someone pretty much roll their eyes at me and say “OK, yeah, a tattoo parlor.” when I said that’s where I went. Wouldn’t listen to me when I explained guns were terrible and cause scar tissue and none of it is sterile. Excuse me for going to a person who does this all day for a living and not some barely trained…
Your story is just about mine word for word. My piercing salon didn’t even charge me because my ears hadn’t healed through and they technically didn’t “pierce” me - just ran a tool through and broke up scar tissue and had me wear studs for 3 months to get the piercing back into shape. I haven’t had any problems…
I actually just did this with my daughter. After she was done, the artist even let her select from a pile of those temporary tattoos you apply with a wet compress so she could have her own tattoo also. Thoroughly enjoyable experience for everyone.
Amen! A piercing shop will 100% do a better, cleaner job, for half the price.
It’s a huge deterrent to want to actually graduate, rather than just drop out. The percentage of high school kids who drop out in my rust belt city (not very far from Chicago) is about one third. More than a THIRD of kids don’t even make it to high school graduation.
Their co-stars have one foot out the door.
Agreed, I can see how this would maybe be a good idea if they had the resources to help students create a post-graduation plan and maybe some kind of waiver for students unable to do these things right away, but this kind of ham-fisted “tough love” policy typically hurts more than it helps.
You’re stuck with your family for eternity.
I don’t know about Mormons specifically, but a few years ago I did some casual research about fundamentalist Christian groups (many of which have no pants rules). The reason they consider skirts more modest than pants is because pants show the full outline of women’s legs, which is apparently deeply tempting. It’s…
In fairness to Kate, I don’t think I have ever seen her roast a house that was selling for under $650,000. The people buying/ building these monstrosities aren’t doing it because it is the only available option for them, they are doing it because they want people to think they are richer than they really are.
