Nice! I personally bristle at requests for forgiveness - they make it feel like an obligation on my part to make the apologizer feel good, & I wouldn’t want to invalidate the kid’s lingering hurt or anger if they’re still feeling it - but think that asking for something else like an activity could be a great end to

How many euros would the special low sodium butter have been?

Yeah this is just clickbait - a bunch of these, most people aren’t pronouncing the brand name *like the brand’s home country would*, but correct/incorrect is more subjective or nuanced.

But... don’t you wear clothes? Especially in the winter - I make sure to wash my clothes religiously and wash my hands and face, but what other parts of your body are in contact with gross stuff?

I take 1-2 off days a week, and so far no one has noticed. I use deodorant every day, and sometimes use dry shampoo on those off-days to keep my hair from looking greasy, and it has a subtle fragrance that also “hides” some subtle BO. I work in an office, and make sure to shower if I’ve had a workout or been outside

By major networks, do you mean ABC, CBS, etc? Because you can either watch them on demand through Hulu (paid), or get an antenna and watch them live for free.

Okay, but I think there’s more nuance to the white-boy-teen-fandom trend than this:

Have you looked at Sling TV? I think it has several of your listed channels... I do Hulu for the network shows, though I could also watch them live for free.

What do you see as the benefit of on demand, though? Isn’t it the same as having a streaming service like Hulu/HBO Go/Netflix? Plus the cable versions are all terrible, technology-wise. They’re slow, clunky to rewind/pause, often force you to watch commercials anyway...

Yeah this advice varies wildly depending on what area/neighborhood you’re in. My Comcast bill for internet/cable (no HBO/Starz) was $160 at one point. When I finally canceled cable, ate the contract cancellation fee & got a Chromecast and Hulu, it meant huge savings.

I was a couple years later and did black spaghetti strap in 2005, red-ish coral halter in 2006. I guess we were boring high school dress soulmates?

What do you mean, didn’t have anything to do with the interaction? She was out in public in sexy/sex-thought-provoking clothing and makeup, so really, she was the one who started it. /s

Well, I’m not sure she’s getting a full reporter’s salary (which is what these days? Minimum wage? Hooray for the death of print /s)

And the sad thing is, there was a better way to say what she was thinking and possibly make a sale. “Are you sure? You look like you might be under a 16 in our sizing / Our sizes run big/loose. I can show you different sizes so you can see what fits you best.”

I was a size 6 out of college and am now a 12-14 - every once in a while I feel nostalgic, but then I take a good look or glance at my boobs and remember how amazing they are now. Pros and cons, pros and cons...

I had a bunch of friends who were pre-med in college - most of the women are now in medical residencies, less than half the men are now in other fields. I hope your son’s friend doesn’t listen to the idiots - I may be biased, but I think women entering the field is a net gain for everyone.

Agreed with the other reply-er - little boys get told all the time that they “should be playing outside” or what sports they should be playing, etc.

I had the same reaction - they were made for each other. He’s manipulative, but she kind of is, too.... and at the very least, he encourages her to be a career woman unlike her sad-sack fiance, which was progressive for the time.

Or even a simpler “I can’t think of any women who specifically “inspired” me. There are some women in recent decades whose writing I am greatly impressed by/I greatly enjoy reading, including [2 names, maybe].” It’s still kind of dismissive, but at least recognizes writing by women and doesn’t delve into why women

I still revel in the memory of that one time our high school gym teacher foolishly thought tennis would be a good idea. I got on a court opposite a couple jock-y bros (or bro-ish jocks?) who knew I was terrible at every other thing we did in gym class and were worried the match-up would be boring.
