If it were actually a high quality item, I could see $20k. It is unfortunately total Walmart trash. Nothing on it feels like any thought were put into manufacturing it. Cheap plastic and plated pot metal. Barf.

Pleeeeaaaaase Yamaha give us a naked version and don’t ruin it. I don’t want it, I need it.

Now time for more power!

This all sounds great especially the motorcycle and garage blog. Just push Doug Demuro off a cliff and it will be a great 2016.

C5 Audi RS6. No air suspension, but more expensive wear items than you can count. Also, twin turbo v8.

80s XJ

The more time on two wheels the better. I’ve been riding bicycles my whole life and make a living with them. When I’m in shape from riding mountain bikes is the time when I feel the most comfortable and capable on my motorcycles. I’ve been riding motorcycles for around 16 years now, and still learn things from riding

I work on bicycles for a living. Carbon tech from 5 years ago is light years behind the new stuff even. They don’t have issues unless the carbon is compromised in some way(ussually from a crash causing abrasion). Well designed carbon frames (Santa Cruz) are even more durable than metallic frames. It’s an engineering

I didn’t even look on eBay, but if a D3 Audi A8 isn’t on the list I’ll kick my roommate’s dog

Bicycle frames in carbon are the norm, I have wondered when the Moto industry would make this cost effective. Seems like a no brainer.

160 hp out of the 1050? That’s the only thing it needs. Having owned one, it’s quick enough until you ride a Tuono or S1000r, etc.

Fantastic article, and my perspective as well. How could anyone think a $8500 911 is going to be perfect anyway? The only part that would have put me off is the VIN issue, and as you said, should have been checked ahead of time.

If it stays below $3000, it’s worth it. When it gets closer to $4000, it’s not as tempting. Fantastic track beater potential though.

Wouldn’t trade my Bell Star Carbon or RS-1 for anything else out there. The photochromic shield alone gives them a huge edge over any other helmet.

USA is the Model T or F150. Then again giving the USA the fastest car on the list is very american of you.

The 911 has always been the best all-rounder in any form. That’s the entire point of the car. The rear drive turbos were always monsters, but 993 und up have always been everyday supercars. The new Turbo S just sets the bar that much higher.

Every direct injection engine in the world does this. There is no fuel to clean the valves like in a conventional engine. Water/Meth injection all but solves the problem, and makes the car more consistent.

You are the only reason I still follow Jalopnik. Excellent article!

You appeal to the people that think Jeff Dunham is funny

Can we actually make the ims issue seem scarier so these things stay cheap. This is the best 25k you could spend on a car IMO.
