Time to remember the first Falcon 1 launch- after being warned by engineers “we used aluminum for some engine components but switched to stainless steel after early Atlases failed., the first Falcon 1 failed... because they used aluminum engine fasteners which failed under the heat load. Then they switched to

Fortunatly, Enceladus doesn’t have as much of a radiation problem around Saturn.  Also the ice appears to reach 2-3 km thickness near the poles.

In the source article, it mentions that this is the last resort for many of them- double dating each other.

Considering how much they fought every little thing Obama did in office, probably upwards of a decade or more.  Every tiny bit will be a huge battle.

I’m guessing most people are just unaccustomed to such a steep hill, especially in LA. Doesn’t matter what kind of vehicle either- people freak out even if they’re driving something that can easily make it.

As someone who lives in the neighborhood, more often than not this realization occurs halfway up the hill. Sometimes leading to people having to get out and switch drivers or try and turn around in the middle of the street.

They design plenty of telescopes and fund plenty of studies. That money has nothing to do with SLS/Human Spaceflight and they are not interchangeable.

None of the SLS/Constellation funds had anything to do with the funding for space science. Congress shortchanged Commercial Crew during the 2013-2014 period, but did not “siphon” any money from this sort of development.

They don’t own it, but they do distribute it. If a company does testing on their own, that information remains a corporate secret and is protected IP. If NASA does it, the info gets released either publicly or in public papers, and the company does not own the IP.

Don’t forget if Musk does it, the data doesn’t get to be public. So we might as well just enjoy the pictures of an endeavor like that.

Wrong-o, got the budget to fly block 1 more than once, all while doing block 1B. Even got manifested more flights. And for perspective, its still delayed less from its original date than Falcon Heavy was (FH original date was 2013, SLS was 2016).

“Deplatforming means nothing”

And this is why we loose. “WAH! The minority party can’t hold the republican’s feet to the fire! SUCH BETRAYAL! How could anyone vote for the democrats ever!?” [loses another election] “WHY ARE THEY SO USELESS!?”

Ironically, Orbital-ATK had been the original replacement with their Pegasus 2 rocket. Solid first stage but LH2 upper stage, but they couldn’t make the business case close and dropped out. After the Stratolaunch being rocket-less for a while, they got the proposal to launch the original Pegasus mostly because it

Unfortunately most of those get replaced or re-done in post anyway now. In the end its mostly just helpful for the actors.

Tons of stuff gets dropped in VFX for not being “just right”. This also includes costumes (not moving perfectly) and many set pieces. Especially if some blue/greenscreen objects or rigs get in the way.

She looks like her lines were drawn by laws of physics beyond our current understanding which was a nice in-universe touch.

They wanted to blow it up, but it was too big and bulky to blow up, so they did smaller models. That original model was used for the entire run of TOS films as ILM got better at shooting it on bluescreen.

Anything less is absolute betrayal! Better never vote again- surely this will entice them to use the power they don’t have!

Probably the price tag.
