Unless someone’s worked in the industry - it’s very hard to grasp just how bad the flat rate system is. Manufacturers cut warranty labor times, shops are cutting labor times (and giving ‘easier’ jobs to apprentices), and customers just don’t want to pay $139/hr shop rate.
