I wear a pair of beige ankle boots all. the. time. Jeans, pencil skirts, flowy dresses, cigarette pants...I love them. They make outfits interesting without seeming over the top. What I reaaaaaaally hate are the black leather platform ankle boot monstrosities WITH A FUCKING PEEP TOE.
QUIT. Life is way too short. I'm quitting my lame, mind mushing, soul crushing admin job to work in wine; a career switch that I've had in the works for a couple of years now. I won't be making as much, I won't get health insurance, but I'll be happy making forward progress doing what I want to do.
same here...I think I got bumped once. In Vegas. "Oh no, I have to hang out in Vegas for one more night for free? And my work can't get mad at me because I have proof it wasn't my fault? So now I get to go try and win my money back at Ceasers and consume free drinks while doing so? How tortuously awful."
Who is the liberal and progressive man directing sexist shit at a conservative woman? What is your comment "Good," referring to? Either I am confused or you seem to have misplaced outrage here, which is a side effect of skimming articles and ignoring context.
I think I'm a rare breed of person who doesn't mind the logistics of traveling. Is it my all time favorite thing? No. But I've traveled pretty often, and for some reason or another it's just meh. Not fun, but not exactly terrible either. I wish I had some kind of advice but honestly; it's mostly making sure my iPod is…
Yeah I think you're forgetting that you're not allowed to weigh more than 110 lbs as a woman in Hollywood, especially if you seriously lack any objective acting talent and/or are pretty much only known for being hot. So unlike the unwashed masses, who maybe want to lose 5 or 10 lbs every so often and can do it with…
Wowza...so doing that at my next Drunk Bunch Brunch. Maybe with an over easy egg and some finely grated parmesan on top? Mmmm....
Agreed. I feel like 3-5 years isn't that significant in either regard for either gender. The older you get, the smaller that gap feels. No one cares when a 60 year old dates a 50 year old. No one cares when a 35 year old dates a 30 year old. It just doesn't matter the more life experience people gain along the way.
I think you're told NO so many times working in creative fields, and are subject to a lot more critique and harshness surrounding your work (which can sometimes be very personal) that you have to either pump yourself up to keep going, or pretend that when you are rejected or harshly criticized that it doens't bother…
Uh, well it does kind of suck when your talents are in things that aren't deemed socially worthwhile. In the US we're supposed to LOVE our jobs and be all about them. When your job blows and everything you'd like to do is in the creative fields, where competition is fierce, pay is low, and respect for those jobs is…
Yeah female athletes are female first, athletes second when it comes to their media exposure. I don't read articles about how great male athletes look with their shirts off, but when it comes to main stream coverage of female athletes, there is a heavy focus on their physique, and not because what they do is…
While the profile was sort of irritating, what I also took away (and what I'm constantly reminded of, living here) is that for all the railing against status quo and traditionalism; Silicon Valley insiders are still a very privileged group of people whom I'm not sure fully grasp just how much they started with. Birds…
Girl Questions for Sheryl Sandberg:
I have actively tried to not say this to my friends. Sometimes I feel bad; I know a lot of them are kicking their asses at the gym, cutting carbs, losing weight. And instead I say, "you look great!" instead of "omg you look skinny." (keep in mind, none of my friends are overweight or have health issues related to…
Agreed. When I see someone looking great who happens to have the same measurements as me I feel waaaay better. Also, regarding weight; everyone's body is different. I have friends who weigh more than me but wear smaller sizes. I think the more numbers that are out there, maybe the more people will realize that…
Boom Larry Bird. Mac only works out his arms and has a hilariously inflated sense of his karate skills. I'm a long time fan of the show, and they make a joke of pretty much every physical flaw there is to make fun of. Can't wait for the new season!
Instagram did it better, cheaper, and sooner.
That is definitely true...it's easy to spend a ton of money on a vegetarian/vegan diet. I think it's more about changing your mindset. I wish more people could realize when money is tight, going with out meat IS an option. In fact my grandma, who was 1 of 8 from a dirt poor coal mining family was pissed when she found…
