Most Italian Americas are of Sicilian or Calabrese descent, and at the time their families came over, Italy had just unified and like, 70% of Italians spoke ONLY their regional dialects. Southern dialects are pretty much unintelligible to other Italians. So a lot of pronunciations you here in America are bastardized

The thing is, usually people with Italian flag tattoos don't really know anything about Italy other than a few highly stylized words of Sicilian or Calabrese dialect.

So, a long time ago, Luftansa was awesome and served these giant breakfasts with several types of bread and cold cuts and shit on their short flights.

I was raised eating my pasta al dente, as it should be. I am constantly horrified by how soft some people cook pasta. Like, why?!

My ma worked at the NYC DOE

But...in Italian, it's closest to the American pronunciation. Doesn't quite mean the same thing, though, it's kind of a broader term for dough.

None of what you said applies to anything I said.

Hahah. I think my parents were relieved.

Now, over hurr in Murricah, we don't learn "Spain Spanish" in school and we have a big Hispanic population that doesn't speak Castellano. So no one EVER uses that lispy sound and people will laugh at you if you do.

It's polenta ;)

I hate Cameron Diaz and I'm not sure why. So not especially upset, haha.

Oh man, I got my hands on the Sex Pistols and was like, "oh ok, I get it"

Yeah, I'm not seeing any attention seeking. Like...she's dressed very...modestly (hate that word and the implications) for an 18 year old. Those pictures aren't sexual.

I was so sad when they got together because I wasn't allowed to be a real punk at 12 and had to be a pop punk and listen to Good Charlotte. And she was still just ugh and I had the hugest crush on him and Benji.

*flails, not at you particularity 'cause you haven't done anything wrong, but at America in general*

It's still not said anything near how he was saying it, though.

Same, but carob. I think there's a whole generation that thinks kids NEED milk to be healthy. I'm too cranky to Google-confirm my suspicion that all that comes from a milk lobby.

I don't trust people who live in a racially mixed area and don't have friends of various backgrounds.
