The religious right is off-the-charts hypocritical. If abortion were murder, then surely birth control would the a bullet-proof vest. But no, they refuse to support birth control, even as they condemn abortion. If I met a religious conservative who said, “I’m against abortion, but I’m 100% for providing the cheapest,

It’s easy to bag on the Pope, but for a Pope, he’s really not too bad.

Politicians- even Democrats and Greens- refuse to bring this up. Smaller, more educated families aren’t usually wealthy, but they almost always avoid abject poverty. Look at the countries and regions with the lowest birthrates- Japan, Norway, Finland, northern Italy- and you’ll see societies that function

Yes, they do. About time they got cracking.

Implement mandatory sex education and incentivize insurers to offer free birth control for women everywhere, and you will make a greater dent in national (and eventually, global) poverty than anything Bernie Sanders could ever accomplish, even in his wildest dreams. Greater than trade, the minimum wage, capital gains

It’s a very cool show, but it took us a few episodes before we were hooked. I didn’t realize how close Helsinki was to St. Petersburg and the Baltic states. And, the Finnish accent is really unique. After watching the series, my wife and I are really psyched to visit Finland.

Hey, I couldn’t care less if the person who cuts my hair has a license or not. You’re preaching to the choir. That said, I don’t work in the industry, and I’d prefer to leave it up to those that do to decide. If they want to get rid of licenses for hair braiders, great!

Get on Netflix and watch “Easy Living,” a wonderful, understated Finnish crime series. After around 3 episodes, you’ll be hooked and you will binge all 30 episodes (3 seasons), breaking only for bathroom breaks and snacks.

True- I always thought it was silly for cosmetologists to need a license, but the cosmetology license does allow workers in the field a certain amount of prestige and pride. That said, I wonder if most cosmetologists would be in favor of making an exception for hair braiding.

The problem is that government requires all sorts of regulations for industries where there are minimal risks to people. If we want less regulations for the hair industry, fine, but are we also willing to cut regulations for funeral directors, tour guides, and Christmas tree vendors? It’s a bit of a slippery slope

Yes, but “getting away” implies that he’s somehow winning, which he isn’t. Trump continues dropping in every single poll of every swing state out there. At the end of the day, the things Trump is saying will wind up costing him the election, even if it appears that he’s being held to a different standard than Hillary.

The only one with any real integrity is Dill.

He’s actually not getting away with anything, which is why he’ll wind up getting beaten so bad in the general he’ll put rented mules to shame.

It would be really nice if Trump released his tax returns and books going back 45 years, if only to know whether he actually ever made so much as one good deal in real estate, or if he simply inherited a ton of money, underperformed the S&P over almost half a century, and bankrupted 4 companies.
