That’s a 3000-4000 lb boat plus you have a 1500 lb trailer that it sits on. Plus any gear you may have in the boat like coolers full of drinks and ice etc. 5000 lb tow rating is pretty much only good for a 4x8 utility trailer.

Journalists don’t understand that occasionally you would want to put the boat in at the lake and the ridgeline can tow the boat just fine, but the trailer puts it over the towing limit.
