The law requires that you have footage.

I can't see how this could go wrong.

Swartz wasn't charged with a copyright violation, he was charged with computer crimes like wire fraud and accessing a protected computer. Arguably overcharged, but not with any copyright violation.

Well, thank you.

If "any means necessary" is the bar why not just kill all the college-aged men and be done with it?

Libel and slander are defamation. Slander is oral, libel written.

They're actually ridiculing smug idiots.

Yes, but if you repeatedly flout a law (one in this case that's made to ensure artists and writers can get paid for their work) you can expect to be deprived of your liberty.

Most of the allegations come from "our source" — merely confirming that she was kicked out doesn't mean the rest of those allegations get to squeak in. If you're going to claim that someone brutally hazed pledges, and use anonymous sources, you should at least have two anonymous sources.

Yeah, I was joking about the fact that this "exclusive" relies on a single source for the bulk of its details. I think even the NY Post is more cautious than Jezebel.

Yeah, I said significant. Eight months is not significant and arguably not even enough for the widescale piracy the PB people practiced.

Is eight months "significant"? The OP said copyright infringers tend to get sentences higher than triple murderers, and I don't think many triple murderers walk after eight months.

Known in the sense that a single anonymous source says she is?

No one teaches the journalism majors not to single source articles with inflammatory allegations. Also no one teaches them to call the subject for comment.

Can you name an actual person who has served a significant prison sentence for copyright infringement?

I agree. I'm glad my teens (and twenties) happened before the age of social media and the notion that anyone can be an Internet celebrity, since most of my thoughts would have sounded equally stupid to an outside observer. That said, she would have been well served by a parent/mentor who could have guided her away

Agreed. Her thinking seems a bit muddled too — she's got a lot of ideas that might be independently tenable but taken as a whole her framework for understanding herself seems flawed.

To add to my earlier point, from scene four: "I don't even know who I'm going to shoot with today. I don't know if it's a man or woman." v. "Porn is like a transaction, it's like a job, you show up, you know exactly what you're going to do and you do it."

I think the quote is actually a little ironic, in that she says "I can do what I want to, I can do what I don't want to." Pretty sure she meant "I can _not_ things I don't want to," but her actual quote is probably more accurate.

Jeez, vocal fry much, Belle?
