A lot of photos from iphones are displayed upside down and sideways when uploaded directly from the device.   It has to do with the orientation of the phone while using the volume up button as a shutter button.

I'm not totally crazy about the design, but I like that its different and that this came from a bug yet looks nothing like the original. getting all of the flat areas of the sheet metal as seen here to not have any ripples or imperfections is a pretty good example of skill.
