You are correct Sir. However it ceases to be a car at that point and really is a basic appliance. Which is why there is no love from Gear/Petrol Heads. It falls in the same category the Prius resides and receives the same amount of love.

Volvo did this same thing with the 240 production run well into the 8/9 series cars that replaced it.
