You were just in a psych ward last night?

Not to take away from your points because the UK gun laws do sound effective, but the US does ban felons(according to the trial I was in someone who has served more than one year in prison) from having firearms. I just sat on a federal jury this week for a case involving the transfer of a firearm to a felon. So, it

Just FYI....you can flag posts, and I believe the author will be notified of them. And they should probably see that he’s routinely threatening suicide / doing whatever the fuck it is that just happened o.O

I really don’t understand this. Anita Sarkeesian just put out her opinions on video games, right? Did she try getting some law passed or something like that? Did she somehow try and force video game developers to change? Because it seems to me like the only thing she is guilty of is having an unpopular opinion

There are plenty of ways to criticize Farah Abraham, who has a lot to criticize, without slut-shaming her. Same with the Kardashians. Also, there is a huge difference between saying maybe someone shouldn’t release a porno and calling them a superwhore.

But then Nice Guys say, “Women shouldn’t lead men on if they aren’t interested!”

Because I believe giving money to an anti-choice organization is a funny way to be a feminist? Okay then! Maybe I am! If you are a catholic feminist, and you give money to the catholic church, then yes. I kind of consider you to be a shitty feminist. It’s basically like calling yourself a LGBT ally, and then donating

It seems like you are purposely trying to miss my point because I disagree with you.

My point is that when a Catholic tithes to the Catholic church then, even though they are pro-choice, that money is going towards anti-choice programs.

Right. I don’t care what individual women do. If a woman wants to be a strict Catholic then good for her. What bothers me is the church pushes parishioners (at least from what I’ve seen) pretty hard to pay tithes. So, even if Catholic feminists don’t support the churches stance on reproductive rights if they are

I’m aware. But are those Catholics who disagree still paying the church a tithe? I married a catholic. I know how pushy the church is about getting money from parishioners.

Good deeds do not outweigh bad. This is why the catholic church doesn’t get called out for the bad things it does. Whenever someone brings up a big negative about it instead of accepting that the church does some pretty sketchy stuff catholics rush in to deny it or point out that they do good so the bad things don’t

But if they are catholic then they support the catholic church, correct? The catholic church has a political agenda to restrict reproductive rights for ALL women. Not just catholic women. So it’s not about personal choices at all. It’s about supporting an organization that wants to impose it’s will on other women.

It’s not premarital sex if I have no goddamn intention of getting married.

It becomes a problem when they support a massive organization that wants to limit all women’s reproductive rights, and engages in politics to do so.

Um, what? It’s not non-catholic feminists business when a massive organization tries to restrict women’s reproductive rights around the world?

True. However, the Catholic Church wants to take reproductive rights away from all women. So, it’s kind of hard to be a feminist and a Catholic when the whole organization is so horribly anti-woman.

You don’t represent all young voters.

I honestly have no idea what OP’s full position on the subject is. However, I really don’t think OP meant to have a detailed conversation. I can also understand Persnickety’s frustration despite not knowing them beyond seeing their name show up in comments on occasion. Rape is a sensitive subject, and a lot of people
