CEO of Reddit isn’t bad though

We just got forcefed a billion stories about the glories of the Red States and how us Coastal Elites have to understand and sympathize with the people there so allow us Californians a few articles or two reminding people why we long left those crappy places because for the most part, they are crappy places full of

Also, somebody please go check on Drake.

This summer my flight was delayed about 16 hours. Delta kept offering miles which I didn’t want because Delta is the worst. Eventually I sent an email to the VP of customer service and ended up with a $75 gift card. The one lady hung up on me when after she mentioned crew was the issue and not weather and still

You do not joke about giving away free shit to old people in Florida and expect to survive.

I have been to Boston. It is way easier to live comfortably within a reasonable distance from major urban centers than it is in California.

That is exactly why I ask the question. I’m not suggesting there be an official policy, but how about an idea of what is reasonable to expect. If my peanuts are stale, can I get free first class tickets next time? If my oxygen mask fails to deploy in an emergency do I get extra free peanuts next time?

Do not say San Diego. Do not say San Diego. Do not say San Diego. (Look, it’s a wonderful place but my commute is hellish enough as it is.)

Those tech bros brought you the iPhone you’re using to post with.

North Bay here! I don’t get the whole “I would miss seasons” thing. The only “missing” season is winter, which is the shittiest season. Vineyards turn fall colors and it’s fucking beautiful. And I don’t even need a jacket today in SF. I was just in Detroit for 4 days, and I’ve officially had enough winter for at least

Agreed. But my family loves the boring ass weather there and never wants to leave. Different strokes, I guess. After a heat wave over Christmas, it’s finally cold and windy again today, and I’m really happy about it.

Homeless people in CA are very visible because they can be outside panhandling more due to the weather. Homelessness is an awful condition, but someone who stows away to CA to sleep on the beach isn’t the same as someone braving out a Boston winter.

Oh, please. Have you even visited places that aren’t CA, NYC or major tourist destinations? Lots of places have arts and cultural exhibits — almost to the point of being stupid. How often are you partaking of cultural exhibits? I live in a place with almost the best of everything in my backyard, and I partake of very

There are a TON of brown people in the South. The dining options in the South and Texas are incredible. There are also very blue areas in places people on the east and west coasts (there are three coasts, people) like to shit on - Houston, New Orleans, Louisville, Nashville, etc. Be the fucking change.

By not standardizing it, the airlines can gamble with the hopes that they would find enough people below the threshold for compensation.

These articles always illicit such an eye roll from me. Okay, great enjoy your perks but maybe try not to be so flip about those of us stuck in more rural areas of the country. It feels so much “I got mine suckas!”

I know Pasadena is pretty crowded and close to LA, but god I love that place. Also, Claremont which is just east of Pasadena. It’s home to some of the best colleges in the country, it has an amazing downtown, and it’s far enough from LA to not be packed with people and traffic, but close enough to access it easily.

A good follow up to this would be a list of reasonable demands. How much should a five hour delay be worth? I bet ten people would give ten different answers.

No one actually misses seasons, they just say they do because of nostalgia/so they can appear deep. Here’s to a 70-degree average, year-round!

Counterpoint: California is responsible for awful techbros (te only other people you hear throwing around terms like “utopia” btw), the Real Housewives, a fairly alarming number of anti-vaxxers, and quite possibly the highest concentration of Scientologist. The whole extreme homelessness and insane gentrification at
