Agreed. I was interested in dimensions until I read that. Once it’s on the portal I don’t want to interact with it. My interaction should be in game.

Not true. Skylanders are backwards compatible. Beyond the starter set you don’t ‘need’ to buy any additional figures to play through and beat the game. If you want access to every little nook and cranny then you need the additional figures.
