What about Bee? I find nicknames come really organically and it’s hard to give yourself your own nickname. One of my best friends is named Nicole but I have only called her Pickle for the last 8-10 years (Nicole>Nickle>Pickle)
Boomba and Critter are the BEST names. Also when I was a kid I wanted to be Samantha or Sunny and when I went on a class trip to a Mennonite village I told the sales people my name was Sunshine.

First time I really felt old was when a (university) student mentioned that he was named after Westley from The Princess Bride. It's still a good name and an awsome character to be named after (somebody's parents have good taste).
Lydia is a great name (I have fond associations with it). I wouldn't be too bothered about the rhyming, kids will find a way to make fun of every name.
