idk who this man is, Spears is always going to be relevant to some degree.
sometimes though you have queer actors bring something special to queer roles that straight actors don’t always quite capture. That’s when it feels like a miss. And then you have a queer character that queer audiences can’t even relate to.
Oh yes, I don’t think the show has much depth in its commentary. I think Lily-Rose is actually delivering, and what’s more interesting is how management abuses its stars or facilities their abuse by others (when usually perception is the opposite when you reach a certain level of fame) and how that hinders these pop…
Davis was really phenomenal in the OG run.
Kesha, Lindsay Lohan, Lady Gaga, Jessica Simpson, any of the Nickelodeon girls, etc. I think any teen star, especially from that aughts era were often victims of abuse, whether sexual or financial, and then vilified by the media for being “crazy” because of it.
that ego got her where she’s at. something kind of amazing about madonna is that she’s not a talented vocalist, but she is one of the best performers out there.
dang, I think this is the funniest show in years. and yet, somehow this feels like the perfect ending for Cary and Brooke, to be done in by its creators in a very Hollywood way.
Yah and it’s this weird idea that the legal system is infallible, even though it historically makes it very difficult to prove your case as a victim.
agreed, I’m kind of more excited for her take on Lois than the actual movie/plot.
yah that’s fair, I’m sure it felt less focused because she busy(idc what people say, Life & Beth was good), but I will miss seeing some of her regular crew in the skits.
Just like any sketch show there were some misses last season, but the homemade pottery one was very very funny/apt.
I think she’s actually very good when the storyline is focused on her, the breakdown on stage in episode two felt legit. I just am sad the show is starting to make the Weeknd so central.
literally the funniest part. as a queer person it really does a solid job satirizing with a lot of heart.
I love the absurdity of this season, the more famous they all become the more bizzaro the humour gets. and it really does seem to capture the impossible task of celebrities “learning lessons” when they are constantly surrounded by people validating them.
I actually think this would be better/feel more energetic if they cast someone more magnetic then the Weekend, but I think Lily Rose is selling her character.
odd
The View is like the OG podcast of people sitting around giving their hot takes on things. I don’t think it deserves the “lesser than” treatment it gets.
I think the trajectory privilege wise these women are on probably matches up to their current personalities, it has been 25 years after all.
Doesn’t CPR work like 1% of the time? As if Carrie was about to break some ribs.
