Well, one guy made the sort of cheap play that attacks the integrity of the sport, ridicules the idea that the game depends on skill and athleticism rather than play-acting, and makes casual fans hate the entire idea of the the World Cup.

There’s got to be a story there. We’ll see!

The game was EXCITING because it was close. Much drama!

“And it’s wild to me that even after several women come forward with allegations against Franken or C.K., Silverman struggles to consider if the allegations are serious enough to deny them the right to do their job in the exact same space where they were just groping women not so long ago.”

“Nobody needs it explained to them that it’s relatively normal for a rookie...”

It’s super easy not to enjoy Harden’s lazy, puffy, arms aflailin’ schtick. He’s the only superstar that I think looks less athletic than the average guy playing hoops at Wooden Center.

That’s nuts, unless you’re in some temporary cash crunch you know will go away in a few years. The interest rates are stupid high on 8 year loans, the only reason to take them is the low monthly payment - which you only care about if you’re not really that secure.

Well, pleading guilty to charges is often your only choice though. Just contesting it will put you behind in school, you might lose your job, etc. Plea to traffic cleanup or whatever is a no-brainer most of the time. And even if you didn’t do the crime, you were probably cited b/c it sure as hell looked like you were

Yup. This sounds like malpractice, frankly.

Particularly for these sorts of he said/she said crimes, and particularly when the accuser is a child, these are crapshoots at best. And taking him at his word, he didn’t want to put his niece through a trial.

For prosecutions, the People (or State, or whatever) is the party. Because “the People” doesn’t exist, the People are allowed to have a lead investigator or other designated person as the “party” at the table, the same way the Defendant can be at the table.

“There was nothing inherently unbeatable about the Mavs, Spurs or OKC from 2010-14.”

If you’re being serious, stands for Minneapolis.

I know a ton of autistic people who love trains. Elevators too. There’s something about the mechanics that comfort them. They like what they like; it’s not weirder than people going “Woo! It’s Kim Kardashian” or whatever pop idol of the moment they like.

That’s based on unreasonable assumption of the risk. If you have a driver’s meeting, you’ve advised of the risk and if they go anyway, regardless of how incompetent they are, they’ve assumed the risk. Even a blind paraplegic has assumed the risk and taken on all the resulting liability of the activity.

It literally does - depending on the state, at least. It excuses you from your own negligence. It doesn’t excuse negligent or reckless behavior.

It’s called comparative negligence. I could explain more, but I don’t think it’ll matter.

I have five words for you: Pour Some Sugar On Me.

In the East? Where you only have to beat the low bar of “Not Detroit?” The only question was whether the Sixers slide into the top 4.

Can’t think. Too distracted by the 5 championships since 2000. Thinking’s for teams like, well, every other team except San Antonio, who are good bets to get fewer rings in a century then the Lakers get in a decade.
