I don’t think it’s a cumulative exhaustion sort of thing. It’s that Kawhi has to spend so much energy probing the defense and hunting shots, not to mention playing defense, that he’s just spent at the end of the game. He could start the game fully rested and 100% and still be burnt at the end.

I think Toronto wins at least one at home - Kawhi’s shots are falling early, takes 25 free throws....but a sweep wouldn’t surprise me.

Indeed.

Man, Kawhi looked spent for most of the second half, including the entire 4th quarter. That’s not a great sign for the length and quality of this series...

I was thinking about this, and New Orleans is way better off in every way than the pre-Blake Griffin Clippers were: Clippers had a tragic owner, history of mismanagement, low enthusiasm...then Griffin started with the crazy dunks, and they were a high-profile team from then on.

This doesn’t get Davis to stay?

There was a play in one of the earlier games where Chris Paul drove into the paint, but Green stuck to him. Paul just started spasming and throwing his elbow into Green’s chest while flailing his head around. No call was made and Paul just tossed the ball out to the perimeter.

He’s shooting hilariously wide open threes, which is a good place to start.

Watching Curry and Paul, two obvious Hall of Fame players who are comically bad in end of game scenarios, is just hilarious. And what’s most amusing, is that they are fuck ups for the exact opposite reason:

I mean, it’s a ripoff in the sense that all fantasy stories since Tolkein are somewhat derivative. There were no Bobbits, no orcs, no elves...

Jokic means that the Warriors can leave a center in the game longer, which helps their bench. Jokic will obviously roast the centers, but they can absorb minutes and take up space before the kill shot in the 3rd quarter.

What, you’re going to argue with metrics?

I mean, quick layup followed with a foul is a viable play in that situation.

Haha, I thought he just stumbled and lost the ball until I woke up this morning and clicked on this article.

I sincerely hope I achieve a similar level of failure...

This is a situation where the debate and criticism is largely about form and principle when it should be about specifics.

I guess...but you think the people Trump is obviously inciting to violence are all go unless Chuck and Nancy tell them to stop?

“Listen, I came up with this devastating strategy to defeat teams with players who cannot dribble. I will now devote millions of dollars to applying this strategy against players who can dribble really well. DISRUPTION! INNOVATION!”

This I know:

Unless you’ve spoken to the people he’s paying, you have not.
