I do live in Harris county (county of Houston) and I do live in Houston. My mailing address says Houston, TX. So yeah, drawing up specific precincts seems like gerrymandering.

calling someone to say someone is swerving is not “filing a police report,” lol.

THE SPRINKLES STORY MADE ME SO HAPPY. Ugh, I wish more people would tell idiots to stfu instead of falling over to help them no matter how stupid the request, just because they want a shitty customer to come back.

The fact that the vast majority of people in Houston weren’t even in the precinct that was allowed to vote for this measure is not as condemning as how ignorant and uninformed you are.

The funniest part is that people believe people in the North are not bigoted! I grew up in Ohio, and the last two companies I’ve worked for in Houston have a majority (60-70%) women, as well as women and women of color in management roles.

Christ, you are an idiot. Missouri City is often considered part of Houston because it’s a suburb of Houston.

no no no. gerrymandering killed this prop. I went to vote, and I was outside of “Houston proper.” It wasn’t even on my ballot. I voted on property tax exemptions and tax levying for flood control.

you are so right...all my friends love hip hop & rap. it’s not country at all XD

Explain to me how you know what Texas is “nothing but” WHEN YOU HAVEN’T BEEN HERE. Fuck, you’re ignorant.

Also PS Houston is the most diverse city in the country. We have huge populations of Latinos, Asians, and African Americans as well as queers. So maybe pick a more whitewashed city when you’re talking about rednecks.

You are full of shit. How do you know if Texas has a lot of rednecks if you haven’t even been?! And no, not more than Alabama or Arkansas (have you even been to those places, either?!). I’ve been to several cities in Texas, holding hands with girlfriends, and I never heard a word about it. Even southern Ohio has more

“Places like Austin” have you ever even been to Texas, or Houston?

I’ve walked down the street holding hands with other women and have kissed/cuddled women in “straight” bars countless times and never heard a word about it. I’m friends with a lesbian couple who was heckled on the street in NYC, which is supposedly

AGREED! I’m a lesbian in Houston so obviously I wanted this ordinance to pass. I drove 20 miles to my polling place to find out HERO wasn’t even on my ballot, and I still fucking voted and drove back another 20 miles to work. Fuck people saying I deserve this.

THIS. I didn’t even get to vote on fucking HERO because I wasn’t in “Houston proper” (whatever the fuck that means). Most people, particularly young people (who are more likely to be progressive) don’t live in the city, they live outside the precinct that got to vote on this.

So I’ve lived in Houston for 2 years. I wasn’t even allowed to vote on this ordinance. I’m not in “Houston proper.” Houston has several suburbs and nearby towns that are considered part of Houston as far as zip codes, but not precincts. So before we say all the people in Houston “deserve” for this ordinance to not

What timely, reasonable, successful measures were taken again...?

...no.

Oral isn’t sex? So are you saying it’s impossible for 2 women to have sex, or are you saying you know the end-all be-all definition of sex? If you saw two 8 year old children performing oral on each other, you would say, “meh, it isn’t sex?” it’s called oral SEX for a reason.

LOL throwing in the fact that you’re trans does not protect you when you make stupid, ignorant, bigoted statements. Sorry!

yeah! and they even still use the term “give away” without thinking about WHY they say it. this is why I maintain that at least 50% of people getting married do it because they think they are “supposed to,” not because they actually want to.
