That settles it then.
That settles it then.
If it makes you feel better, I do believe you will be with your friend again.
Heartbreaking.
If there’s any comfort in this, it’s worth considering that Carrie and Debbie, despite a lifetime of competition and conflict, did achieve a sort of mutual acceptance and reconciliation toward the end. Certainly a lesson for all of us who’ve gone through difficult parental relationships and strive to work their way to…
If there is an after life, I like to think Carrie is chiding her mother saying “Jesus, could you not even give me 24 hours before you stole my limelight?!”
Please keep your shrill opinions about what we’re allowed to be sad about to yourselves. You know who you are. I’m going to be sad about this, I love Star Wars, I love Singin in the Rain. Poor Billie Lourd.
RIP Debbie, may you sing and laugh in the great beyond with all the other greats lost this year and your dear Daughter.
I’m not the religious sort, but sending alllll the most loving, comforting, warm vibes in the direction of Todd and Billie right now.
When I think about Arianna Grande I usually roll my eyes and think about her licking donuts.
Find your bridge, troll.
I was too distracted by Gayle King singing and rocking along to every song behind him. Stop it!
Thank you. Bonnie is my spirit animal — how to look/sound sexy and amazing at 60+.
Here’s a great story about Mavis being presented with the award at the white house, including trying to fist-bump James Taylor who wasn’t expecting it.
I fully expected Carrie Fisher to live to 105, doling out pithy and biting observations the whole way. I’m not surprised, exactly—drug use sticks with you, and not everyone has Keith Richards powers—but I am shocked and very sad.
This. I struggle with alcohol (thankfully LSD isn’t addictive or I’d be in big trouble), and you have no idea how many people will say “You should just drink less”. Like...that’s a completely normal train of thought for some people.
I don’t think he was intentionally condescending. I think most people genuinely don’t get it. They’ve never felt the need to do something like addicts. Or they think that since they quit smoking cold turkey, everyone can beat addiction if they just apply themselves.
Okay sorry to do this to you but are you familiar with the Rolling Stone interview she did with Madonna back in the day (circa Truth or Dare)?
I’m an addict too and it’s always helpful to hear about the struggle from someone who doesn’t look like Gary Busey’s mugshot and who makes cultural contributions that don’t necessarily have anything to do with addiction. She was a good human.
Oh man. All day long it’s been a cycle of me pulling it together, someone posting a Carrie article I can’t turn away from, and me falling apart all over again.
