Yup! Which is why in an arc where they can't use their powers or something Batman has to act as Bruce Wayne instead of Batman to save the day.

Reading this I actually completely forgot about Weevil being in Season 3, especially b/c he has the BEST moment in season 2.

how would it have spoiled the character? He's an "original" character in the sense that he doesn't have the name of a comic book character, but his whole character concept is composite of at least two Robin archetypes (being an orphan and a cop like Dick and deducing Batman's identity like Tim.)

It's not the same as knowing that Miranda Tate was Talia Al Ghul beforehand, because that name has a connection in the series so far. Dick Grayson or Tim Drake are nobodies in the world of this film, same as John Blake is.

But what would it have mattered if we knew it before hand? That's like saying that knowing Selina Kyle's name would have revealed her story before hand.

It was an idiotic nod to the fans. If it was an earnest nod they should have just named him Dick Grayson (or Tim Drake since he did figure out who Batman was, even though his method was stupid) and been done with it, without some coy fucking twist.

All these twists were really fucking terrible.

No he didn't.

I feel like it probably would have made more sense with Court Of Owls, which probably would have been a Dick story (considering the twist that he was supposed to be a Talon). So after getting built up so much and the constant hammering that Gotham *isn't* his city at all, that he doesn't belong, that it is warping…

If you're going to go with "Black Mirror" (or "Hungry City" which is just as good) and tie it to Snyder's current run also pick up GATES OF GOTHAM, which was going to be the prelude chapter to "Court Of Owls" if it wasn't for fucking Flashpoint.
