If they add Keanu as Silver Surfer, any and all concerns I have about a post-Endgame MCU will vanish.

I didn’t buy the multiverse thing either, but there were still a LOT of moments that made me gasp and further enhanced the meta-Mysterio-ness of the film:

Much like Kawhi’s game-winner on the Sixers being made legendary by his championship, the disintegration of OKC’s roster has made this shot a fucking war crime.

Westbrook to the Knicks before Thanksgiving for basically nothing.

Nah, it needs to be someone of lower esteem who he really thinks he can get away with something nasty on. Someone he’s more likely to be matched up with and share the floor with for an extended period. Someone who’s quietly the wrong mother fucker to fuck with who will scar him for life.

Look, it’s no coincidence he plays the same character over and over again when he’s with the same directors. He just wants someone easy to work with that won’t get in the way.

I adore the choice to make his *real* costume a motion capture suit with a goofy fishbowl. It was the perfect homage to the character’s comic origins, a seamless fit for the story, and a nice wink at what people have had to wear all throughout the MCU’s production.

If not for the future films, for the Parks 100%.

I dunno, most of the things people didn’t like here felt right.

This is why ranked choice primaries need to be a thing.

Counterpoint: the fight was so short he felt obligated to put on a show somehow (his tight 5 isn’t ready for primetime).

You definitely know some, but not all. And even if you did it’s still worth the watch.

They address the snapped vs unsnapped time difference head-on in very hilarious ways.

It’s also a natural response to having already done a lot of punching, which takes a toll on your hands, elbows, and triceps. You see it all the time in combat sports that involve punching so they can try to stay loose.

I haven’t seen any of the live action remakes at all, let alone in theaters, but this.... this gets me.

It’s simpler than all that: if they wanted to apply the Avengers formula to longer form storytelling, they needed a Feige (practical visionary). They didn’t have one, so they failed.

She does have more than Thrones under her belt, but likely only got them by virtue of being on the show. I agree she’ll probably do some great work once the halo effect wears off, it’s just going to take time. In hindsight we’ll probably look at this movie and say, “She did a great job with what she was given.”

This is fucken beautiful.

With cosmic MCU on the rise and his ally-status working very much in his favor, Silver Surfer in Captain Marvel 2 is a no-brainer.

You’re right. He and Sophie were both in no-win scenarios that absolutely no one forced them into.
