I've had both Xbox consoles and neither the PS2 nor the PS3. I'm almost certainly switching to the PS4 next generation though, simply because, with my Vita, I've discovered Playstation Plus.

Again, he's not a native English speaker. Correct register is hard, and moreover "mate" is fairly common in the UK and Australia. I'd bet you can't speak another language nearly as well as this guy can speak English.
