You just reminded me of that hell. There were a few years where it was $40-$42k per year (for 2) which is still impacting my finances 4+ years later. Someone I know mentioned that they gave their parents (grandparents to the kids), who watch their children, a bottle if “nice” wine and something else, totaling around

Yep, daycare is expensive as hell. My wife just got a job at my kid’s school, saving us almost $34k a year even though her pay is terrible it essentially doubles her pay.

I think this is why I became such a stingy cheap scrooge. Once all my kids were out of preschool, I got addicted to the excess funds going into my account. Even then though, $1000/month for a vehicle just is a weird psychological barrier.

In the next year I will (finally!!!) pay off my student loans and my youngest child will start Kindergarten in public schools. I feel like buying a fucking Bugatti.

Oh yes. When my kids were very little, I think I was paying out about $3k (circa 2010 metro-Boston region) per month on childcare expenses. It was absolutely worth it for a great facility, but the budget opened up quite a bit once both kids started public school.

Is that a rebadged Kia/Hyundai? Sure looks like one.

I hate how manufacturers default to all black when it comes telling consumers that this is something more sporty. Black paint, black trim, black badges, black interior.

Exciting Audi fails to be exciting.

The owner right now to Ian: “Why did you turn?”

Looks like some Youtuber is getting the Cheapest McLaren P1 in the US as soon as this one dries out.

Here’s the one true car casualty that I was genuinely upset to see. That undercarriage is so clean!!!

I have been a regular grump in Jalop comments about EV range and charging blah blah, but damn that Kia could change my mind. Within a few blocks I have neighbors with the electric Porsche, Tesla and Kia EV6 and honestly the Kia is the best looking of the bunch.

so anywhere between a $600 and $1000 monthly payment needed to enter the world of EV SUV ownership. sorry but that’s still steep af.

I’ll take “shit no one else on earth gives a shit about except for pretentious Americans” for $500 Alex.

Im not mispronouncing it, you are just intolerant of my accent.

Who the hell says “Oddy”

Correctness is not the most important thing, making yourself understood is. If you wait to speak a language until you’re able to do it without making grammatical errors, you’ll spend your life mutely watching the world go by. The same goes for pronouncing car brands the way they do in München when you’re in Muncie, if

News flash: unless you are fluent in a bunch of languages, you’re probably pronouncing a lot of shit wrong. Take Hyundai for example.

Now this is an XM.
