There is an argument about what is the engine of an EV spiritually speaking.  The motor to me is more like the gearbox or just a driveshaft.  There is also the take that true engine of an EV is the software, which I agree as well.

One day we will all look back at these AWD systems while sitting in an EV with individual motor at each wheel and say, those were the good times, good times.

Tesla may be on the right take here. I mean how often do cars today need an engine swap? Unless it’s an warranty job, most cars that need a new engine just ended up being scrapped and replaced with another car.

I like what Hyundai has done, giving the mother brand some of its best designs and thus gradually changing consumer’s mindset, as opposed to the Toyota/Lexus way.

Agree. Oil change is addicting. Even on a car that is an absolute PITA to change and that I swear I would take it to a shop next time, I still look forward to the next oil change after previous pain has lapsed.
