It’s likely just the “headlights down while on” mod. It’s extremely popular in Japan but less so here, almost every picture I have seen from there the headlights were down while on, even I had done it. It’s like how common they mod S13 headlights to pop up half way while on but less so here.

Nope, not true. The headlight would still pop up when you flash, and that always bugged me.

I always think the Z31 300ZX headlights also stand out in the pop headlight era, because it didn’t know what it wanted to be so it’s half exposed and half pop up. Likely another result of corporate meeting compromise.
