I am a Subaru service advisor and I can tell you this is 100 percent true. If you throw a tantrum I will do everything in my power to block you from getting something warrantied.

The only way Subaru can find out about aftermarket parts is if we tell them, that being said if you have a tune on one all bets are off if they ask for the numbers. We can’t fudge those.

Depends on your dealer, we have a customer that works at a local track and we replaced front pads and rotors on a STi at 7500 miles. My best advice to anyone that wants warranty work done on their car is to get in good with your service advisor. The decision is not entirely ours but we can sway one way or the other.
