A few things:

You’re somehow confusing no duty to retreat with being allowed to advance.

Why did Bryant have a knife? Was she acting in self defense?

The daily beast isn’t exactly a goto source for reliable reporting, and nobody else I can find is carrying a story even remotely similar.

This was so preventable. :(

Oh, as an FYI, the two other women were former foster children of the woman who ran the home, there to celebrate their former foster mom’s birthday.

It’s not possible for him to have had any idea who was attacking who or what happened in the minutes before he arrived.

But it is literally an officers job to protect somebody against a clearly unwarranted potentially lethal attack even if doing so means using lethal force. That isn’t “execution”. That’s defense of other.

FTFY.

Someone who came to her house to attack her in her own home

You’re assuming facts that aren’t in evidence. About the only thing we know of the situation is that Ma’Khia was in foster care, and that this occurred outside her foster home. It’s entirely possible the other two girls were in foster care there as well, and didn’t “come over” anywhere. For all we knowMa’Khia went

No. My premise is that shooting someone point blank and *definately* killing them is *not* the solution to a stabbing which may or may not have happened, may or may not have resulted in life threatening injury, and/or may or may not have resulted in death.

if he hadn’t reached them in time there is a chance, not a guarantee the other girl (who, let’s remember, is the aggressor) would have been stabbed.

Stand your ground still only applies if you’re at least neutral. It means you don’t have a duty to retreat. Chasing somebody down, pinning them against a car, and attempting to stab them isn’t “standing your ground”.

Thirty-seven percent of people in federal jails or prisons have some form of mental illness, according to the Prison Policy Initiative. Twenty-seven percent of people shot by cops had a mental health issue and 44 percent of local jail populations are comprised of folks with mental illnesses.

I’m sort of curious what the fallout of this will be if Rittenhouse’s self defense claims actually hold up in court. Because then, in the eyes of the law, he wouldn’t have done anything wrong. Which presumably would make this reasonably good grounds for a wrongful termination lawsuit.

In the republican’s (in general) defense, they *did* warn the democrats that if they go after Trump for what he said at his rally, they’ll go all open season on democrats if they say anything even remotely similar, and I’m not entirely sure it still counts as hypocrisy when you pull the “tat” after announcing in

That would be an... interesting... way of doing support. Credit card with an X/12 limit, where the supporter pays it off fully every month.

I’m on her side, regardless, because I’m sure she has decades worth of unpaid labor being the “wife.”

To also point out, having a $500 million fortune doesn’t mean it can’t require work to keep up with $1.6 million a year spending. The $500 million could be (and likely is) largely tied up in long term investments.
