As it happens, I don't think you need to be sold on the premise of The Leftovers to enjoy the second and third seasons, at least, which are something of a departure (heh) from the first season. I wouldn't say thay you need to be interested in the beyond, or anything like that. It isn't as grim as you might expect

Did you see that Arsenal are (probably) going to sign the young Nigerian striker Henry Onyekuru. This is an interesting one. He's apparently an Arsenal fan. Also, he has "Henry" on the back of his shirt.

It's a shame for Monaco, but at least they will have lots of money to invest in replacements. I guess they will want to emulate Atlético Madrid, who have remained competitive despite continually selling their best players (with a few notable exceptions, such as Diego Godín).

What do you think of The Leftovers?

Well said. I agree with everything you wrote, especially the part about the toy plane!

I don't really see the point of this list. As far as I can tell, Ronaldo is only ahead of Messi because Messi isn't on Twitter.

What don't you like about Kate episodes? If I am not mistaken, Todd said that Kate was his *favourite* character when he watched the first episode. I don't think Evangeline Lilly should be blamed for the material she was given. It seems absurd that Kate can't forgive her mother for turning her over to the

What are some "better movies"?

Pretty, pretty good. I watched the FA Cup final, which was GREAT and put me in a jovial mood. I watched more LOST (most recently, "Left Behind"). I caught up on The Leftovers and Silicon Valley and Veep. I went to see The Other Side of Hope. I read a bit more of J.G. Ballard's The Drowned World. I'm sitting in a bar

Does he say "but it was all a fantasy"?

It looks very interesting. I'll check it out.

The Leftovers just won't stop kicking the rest of television's ass:

*listening now*

The New Yorker one isn't bad.

I also watch Al Jazeera's Inside Story, but that's not really a podcast.

Did you listen to any more of the tennis one?

I have found myself listening to a few podcasts about American politics (Slate's Trumpcast, The New Yorker Radio Hour, Lawfare, etc), but I am increasingly finding that I don't want to listen to podcasts about American politics.

I remember listening to one or two of those a few (six?) years ago. I also remember printing off a list of all the songs and making a half-hearted attempt to listen to all of them.
