This is why I put off watching it. I knew a lot of time would be… lost.

What do you think of Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band?

Michael Emerson is pretty great in this, huh?

Maybe Dominic Monaghan was miscast as Charlie. I hadn't really thought of that until I read your comment. I don't think "rock star" or "heroin addict" when I look at him, which has been a problem during the Charlie-centric episodes. I agree that Monaghan has done well with the material. Also, I get the impression that

They could have done a flashback about every single one of his tattoos!

I also liked Charlie's scenes with Mr. Eko. RIP, Mr. Eko.

I don't think Dominic Monaghan has been used well throughout much of the series. I like Charlie, but I don't like his flashbacks and I think his relationship with Claire seems… dull. It hasn't been good for either character. I have rolled my eyes during quite a few of the scenes with the baby. Although he seems to be

I wish they had cast extras who had already appeared in the series, or offered some kind of meta-recognition of the fact that these survivors were suddenly visible to the audience. Hurley could have made a reference to Scott and Steve, or Sawyer could have made a sarcastic, throwaway comment.

According to one commenter, ABC ran adverts saying that *questions would be answered* in that episode, so I think the building up of expectations must have contributed to the backlash. In the parlance of our times, it probably felt like ABC was trolling the audience.

"Stranger in a Strange Land" wasn't as bad as I expected, but it did seem… pointless. "Flashes Before Your Eyes" was obviously pretty great.

I thought it was odd when Nikki and Paolo were introduced. Who are these people? Hasn't anyone noticed that they have insinuated themselves into the main group of castaways? I initially wondered if they had infiltrated the group, like Ethan (or like Mr. Poopbutthole?) and the island had erased everyone's memory, or

They fuse.

It's very complicated, you have to be Albert Einstein to figure it out!

"This part of the story is generally well known: at a corporate retreat in 2003, [Lloyd] Braun pitched his development team the idea of doing Survivor meets Castaway as a dramatic series."

LOST

What's the point of having a train timetable if the trains are going to leave early (and often late)?

That's a good thing, right?
