After spending a few months down the prepper rabbit hole a few years back, when “peak oil” had captured my attention, I emerged with one basic conclusion, which is pretty much the same one you reached here: unless you had obscene amounts of disposable income in order to stock up for months of mayhem, it’s kind of

“Unfortunately, I never (that I know of) came into contact with a Bay Area prepper”

Sigh.  The reason you haven’t met any preppers is that one of the sensible rules of prepping is:  Do not advertise to your potential looters/enemies/desperados that you are likely to be sitting on a large cache of vital supplies...

My favorite “preppers” are the Trumpsters who have been building bunkers and stocking them with provisions to live alone for years but are now protesting for the right to die with nice hair and freshly painted nails.

Growing up, my best friend was Mormon. She, of course, had seven siblings and a SAHM. Looking back, her dad couldn’t have made more than $70k, but this was back in the 1980s so maybe that was enough.

I am a native northern Californian, grew up in the Bay Area and have lived in San Francisco for 28 years. I’m not surprised you’ve never met a “prepper” here, because neither have I. This article about Bay Area preppers is all news to me.

Its funny because Trump already threw Kemp under the bus.

No mystery why.

When given the chance white folks will always show every inch of their asses. No matter how little or flat they are. I wish to god this person could be found and outed. I mean if you feeling chesty Chad or Chyler put your name by this, colonizer.

Thanks, I figured that was the case but you never know how dumb these people are going to be. Their idiot kids think they can use the N-word on TikTok and get away with it if they write it instead of saying it. Hell, it might be those kids.

I was curious myself and there are online email address verifiers. This one shows up ad nonexistant, so they might have just made It up, I guess?

These “people” aren’t interested in opening Atlanta for business; they are concerned about losing the election. They could care less about small business owners even though the business owners complaining are tow truck drivers, strip club owners and bar keeps.

It is trivially easy to spoof and pretty much anything else wouldn’t make sense for this use, especially on a risk/reward basis.

This.

I don’t know how difficult it is to spoof a .gov address or get control of one inappropriately but I’m glad they’re looking into it. If a state employee did this they need to be publically outed, shamed, fired and maybe prosecuted for misuse of government resources if that's possible.

Hell, the first wave isn’t over yet!

Mayor Lance Bottoms knows this. However, Atlanta (where I live) is in a political dance for it’s life. She’s using any and every thing at her disposal to take care of our city. So, if going on TV and pearl clutching at the N-word is going to bring attention to Covid-19, and hopefully oust kemp, I am 100% behind her.

+ What “reopening” Georgia means to Georgia’s black population. Five of the top 10 counties with the highest per capita death rates in the U.S. are in Georgia. Black people are the largest racial group in all five of these counties in Georgia (and 7 of the top 10 counties nationwide)…

I hope when the identify the idiot, civil servant or not, they identify him. Whether he committed a crime is irrevelant, he wanted to be heard - everyone should know who was speaking.

She is right to stand against Kemp. The moment a second or third wave of infections starts springing up, people are at risk and I can promise you that people will not blame Kemp for the resurge, nor will they blame Trump.
