Quality aside, Phantom Menace still has to be the most hyped film of all-time, right? Back then it felt like every department store was absolutely saturated with tie-ins, and entire aisles were devoted to just Episode I toys.

The whole record (for Americans it’s Searching For The Young Soul Rebels) fucking bangs and still sounds great.

Same with Crowded House which Americans weirdly take as a one-hit wonder despite a long, incredibly successful career with a bunch of iconic tracks which are hugely culturally important, particularly in Australia/New Zealand, their home.

Now playing

lol , the American phenomenon of massive UK/Irish acts regarded as one hit wonders is always weird .. I mean look at Aha , one song (with THAT video) in the US , and a metric tonne of hits in a lot of the rest of the world.. I mean they did a bloody James Bond movie for gods sake!

The fact that it’s rated so high but they didn’t bother to just put it at number 2 slightly annoys me.

Never heard of ‘em. Are they like an Oasis cover band?

Found the American.

Off the top of my head, I can think millions of Americans who dumber shit on the daily than answer calls from unlisted numbers.

Other than the show Seinfeld, this is probably the most legacy-enhancing work . . . for Larry David.

I mean you either take the path of Hamill and are always down to talk about it or you take the path of Ford and literally just look pissed off anytime someone brings it up.

In his Variety interview, Felton also took some time to address his Potter days, as he always seems to be doing.

Agreed, but I don’t know how you market this movie without it. If you try and hold back the twist, you make the movie seem like its a totally non-supernatural crime thriller, which attracts a largely different audience than the horror “comedy” crowd they were aiming for with this script.  (Comedy in quotes because I

YMMV, I suppose, but I get no satisfaction out of spending two hours with stupid people (give or take Coen Bros. movies).

If you’re going to make your characters dumb intentionally, they have to be phenomenally dumb, and it has to be across the board (again, see the Coen Brothers— Raising Arizona, O Brother Where Art

Deadpool 2 makes no claim to be for kids while Bluey does.

I got a few comments about being able to cut my mom out of my life. I’m combining my replies in this post, since it all boils down to this:

You’re not gonna believe it, but that Al guy is kind and normal person and a generous collaborator.

He’s our preeminent farting corpse with hidden layers of depth!

I suspect your post will not age well. Just like comments made years ago why black people and white people should be separate. Why gay people should be condemned to less rights. Why women shouldn’t have credit cards absent a man’s approval....

...this issue, honestly, is quite stupid. It comes down to treating people

Personally I’d love to hear more about the Weird Al movie from Radcliffe.

and he’s great in the Weird Al movie!
