After half a dozen songs I get bored of Moz in any incarnation, but The Smiths definitely had jokez. You kind of need a sense of humour that thinks using “Oh Mother, I can feel the soil falling over my head” as an opening line is a hot zinger, tho. It doesn’t register with a lot of people.

OG Muppets was great because a 3 year old could enjoy most of it without needing to know the context of the skits, with the show still being relevant to adults. It’s also why the sketches are still funny today. These videos are all explicit pop-culture riffs, and don’t really work that well without knowing the source…
