This is true and it really affected my pizza delivery times.

Also worth noting: the third film in each trilogy is named after an order of force users.

In regards to the title, I like the theory I’ve seen bounced around on Twitter about Skywalker actually referencing the new term for Force users. The gist is the prophecy of the one who brings balance to the Force. So balance would mean light and dark don’t have power over the other. No Jedi, no Sith. Luke was talking

are they multiplying? Are you losing control? is it electrifying?!?

Spoiler alert:

The purpose of sanctuary cities is to aid law enforcement in stopping violent crime. I.e. prioritizing violent crime over immigration. It’s a good policy that allows people here illegally to report crimes rather than having a subset community that’s too afraid to go to the police to report murders, rapists, etc.

You know what? Fuck it. I love Star Wars and I’ll see all of them. I didn’t even mind the Last Jedi. Right into my veins.

trump is a national emergency.

And I agree, yes. But there were certainly people and politicians at the time who were opposed to busing because they wanted systemic change, not the band aid solution. I’m not saying Biden was one of those people, but it’s something that must be kept in mind.

Busing students long distances was never a good solution. It was a band aid to a broader societal problem, but one that seriously inconvenienced large numbers of children who would spend hours going to and from school. Rather than busing children, the government needed to be more aggressively fighting income

Faux News is poison. But people are lapping it up. This is the kind of shit that preludes a fascist state and a deconstruction of democracy. We should know as a country - we’ve destabilized a lot of governments using almost the same methods. Its just ironic that its happening here and people are just as taken in by it

As someone who grew up eating tons of Padrón peppers every summer I welcome the asian equivalent.

Pro: Hawaii has amazing food—Spam musubi, poke, mac salad, kalua pork!

I think the idea is that we get away from “I need an employer to have health insurance.” Thus we eliminate those who are stuck in jobs they can’t leave or those that leave (or are fired) from jobs and have to search all over again for health insurance.

The ending of the Shield maybe the greatest ending of any TV Show I’ve ever seen. And as you said that was following up Family meeting pt. 1, Fuck man. Those words still haunt me.

I know what you mean. I like when the Nu-Metal recedes and the show gets a less-obvious “bro”-type vibe, but that is secondary to the plot and the character interactions not involving the Strike Team, and if audiences can stomach the unexpected ending to the first episode and are still intrigued about where this is

The reveal of the titular “Family Meeting” is the only event in any movie or TV show I can ever remember causing my head to start pounding like I was getting faint. That was horrific, and completely without anything graphic or disgusting.

That’s interesting, I tell some people if the first episode puts them off to tough it out through the first season before dismissing it. The tone is so eye-rolling in the first several episodes with tons of Nu-Metal blaring and that kind of thing. It becomes a much more mature show after that.

I think a lot of prestige shows run in to is that they fall in love with that main character or give in to fan pressure about how the MC isn’t actually that bad. That was what made Shield special as it not only always remembered who Mackey was, but it also forced the fans to examine who exactly they were cheering for.

It isn’t the new job or how his whole freedom is tied to it, but that Claudette exposed Mackey to all the other cops. That made it so brilliant as it hit on his biggest flaw, his ego and need to be seen as the big hero, except now all those who used to admire him saw him for what he truly was.
