Wow, terrible news. I stumbled upon the finish line Saturday afternoon (was in Ensenada looking at wedding venues). I hung out for a few minutes and snapped a couple quick pictures of finishing bikes, but I saw no sign of this tragedy. It was pretty warm, but nothing like the heat out in the desert.

I agree with many of your points, but I take some issue. In the beginning of the article you acknowledge that the company exists to race. But you fault them for not making the cars pretty enough. Pretty isn’t always fast.
