Wow. And the flight attendants did nothing?
Wow. And the flight attendants did nothing?
None. After he walked out on me and the kids I made a big point of continuing to go absolutely everywhere that I liked because fuck him, I own all these places and HE can go find somewhere new if it bothers him.
Sounds like we’re in similar predicaments. Currently, I’m planning an exit strategy while continuing to be a team player. It would probably feel amazing to voice all the wrongs you’ve experienced before taking off for new climes, but at the end of the day, it’s all about building that network. And in the overall…
Eat a lot of Mexican food and chocolate, document that crap with your boss for HR, tell your friend to get bent, reapply at the company with your former contact’s replacement, and watch MST3K.
Thanks! Same to you. Positive psychic wavelengths are coming your way.
Pet something soft and cuddly. *hugs*
I’ve had a crappy week, too. I’m working it with cat videos on YouTube, having an impossible cheeseburger (which was great) and a sugary soda. I’m going to bed early. I am skipping out on my chores for the day, saving ‘em for tomorrow. I’ll probably mess up half of that, given how things are going, but I need a day…
Other people have had really good suggestions here, so I’ll just offer my commiseration, reiterate a few suggestions, and note that, for me, alcohol is never a good way to deal with a bad week anyway. I’m a child of an out-of-control alcoholic and among my many self-imposed rules for drinking with that genetic reality…
Take time with people I love? Indulge myself a bit with steak and chocolate and bath bombs? Call my mother and rant at her? Plan a foreign holiday? Have a duvet day? And drink, obviously.
Ouch. Internet hugs.
Download some amazing podcasts and go for a LONNNNGGG walk. It never fails to make me feel better and think,
Take a hot bath with Epsom salt, some lavender oil and bubble bath - or something like that.
I also will go for long scenic walks.
I love thrift stores. The one near me styles itself as a “boutique” and has racks of stuff that still has the tags on. Thrift stores near nice neighborhoods can have some amazing finds
Put your $$$ into blazers, coats, jackets - these are the pieces that will be noticed and really up the level of any outfit including t’s and jeans. Black pants are black pants (as long as they fit well) Wear items that fit but not tight - tight is a dead give away that an item is probably of low quality.
I generally just wear whatever I like without thinking about my age too much. If I think I look cute in the crop top, I buy it. If I put on a pair of pants and go oh no...my butt DEFINITELY did not look like that a few years ago...I throw them in the bin. It’s easy if you don’t overthink it!
Do you! If you're looking for a bit more "polish" on occasion, a blazer type jacket looks really snazzy with jeans & a tee. Also, accessorize with some inexpensive jewelry. It might feel weird at first but it really helps perk up any outfit.
am 35(? I think but don’t want to do the math) and still wear jeans and t shirts, I will shake things up with button down shirts tho if I want to look slightly more adult. Its hot as Hades where I am right now but if I ever want to look more “”adult” I throw a fitted blazer on top. I also wear Toms instead of sneakers.
