I do graphic design and not writing, but absolutely “engagement/familiarity with other” artists is so important. It’s hard to improve yourself when you end up only having a feedback loop of your own work. And seeing something done beautifully or even better than your own attempts can be the fuel you need to get it…

I lived in the pubic library as a child. I spent soooooo many hours there every week, and also in my school libraries. But I’ve since found among my own books two elementary school library books I never returned (and I had switched schools that summer) and 3 public library books. The shame.

I have never understood why our society feels the need to cover womens’ nipples. It seems so silly that those stupid black bars can take an image from obscene to acceptable.

My library doesn’t even charge late fees. I think it’s amazing and I love it. Because of it, I’m probably more responsible about returning physical books because I don’t want to abuse my library’s generosity.
