I know that I'm stressed out when I spend three hours shoveling snow where thirty minutes would have sufficed. Anything to take my brain off my thesis - but disappointingly, I tired myself out just before achieving a pile of snow big enough to try to hollow out a snow cave. It might work better if I let the snow

Hmmm. I live on the top floor a house that has been divided into apartments, and I get the shakes when the people downstairs (or I, for that matter) do laundry, and I can hear their footsteps, but those are both pretty rhythmic vibrations.

We have No Name products up here in Canada. Pretty much what you described, except the boxes are bright yellow with black lettering, and they cost less instead of more.

Yes! His face didn't quite look human to me, but as soon as you said "luck dragon" I felt the ringing of the truth-bell throughout my soul, and now I'm telling myself that a luck dragon isn't really a pet, so I'm sure the no-pet clause in my apartment lease doesn't apply here... right?

I like the fact that he's following his dream (yay dreams!), but I also just recently watched the documentary Head Games, which is about the possible effects of the repeated concussions experienced by football players and other athletes who are regularly subjected to blows to the head, and that's some scary shit.

I use a light moisturizer, then put on Clinique CityBlock SPF 40 (it also comes in a lighter SPF, but I have pale skin and don't like to tan). In the summer I skip the moisturizer most days and just put on sunscreen - it's oil free but it seems to be moisturizing enough in hot, humid weather. Makeup goes on pretty

One of my favourite books is Saving Fish From Drowning by Amy Tan. I laughed out loud in places (some of the reviews for this book aren't as positive as my experience was though). Midnight's Children by Salman Rushdie is also fantastic.

Besties! These two are Eliot and Henry. Henry (tuxedo) regularly picks fights with Eliot, who is the most easy-going cat I know. They forgive and forget right away though.

It is nice to be able to visit on a whim. I'm in Ontario, and my parents are in Alberta, so it takes about eight or nine hours all-told to get from my door to theirs, and it's an expensive trip.

Thanks for the reminder not to get too wrapped up in feelings that could very well be transitory. I've got a couple months to figure out where I'd like to apply for jobs, so I'll definitely have a chance to settle back in here before making any decisions.

Goofy dancing to music that no one else can hear?

I just got back to my apartment, where I live by myself, after being at home with my parents and the cats for almost a month (my trip was extended due to the flu). And I'm homesick! I'm 32, I've lived on my own for quite a few years, but I don't have a lot of close friends and get along really well with my parents.

I've been sleeping a lot for the past ten days, so I think I'm going to have to try to ease back into some work at least over the next week. Just so tired. Thanks for the reassurance that I'm not alone in this situation - I do tend to beat myself up over things like this or think I should be doing more, but I'm going

It really is such a bitch. My 92-year-old grandmother caught it at the same time as me, and she has been so sick that she's been hallucinating. It's really quite scary. Hope you start to feel better soon!

I was okay with relaxing for the first few days, but now I just want the energy to be able to get some shit done. Even though I'm starting to feel better I'm still so tired. I hope you feel better soon too!

Here's me whining: I've been in bed/on the couch for the past ten days with this awful flu, which then turned into a sinus infection, which now seems to want to turn into an ear infection. I've managed to get absolutely nothing done on my thesis, and I'm supposed to get a draft done before February (which involves

Currently I use a Clinique liquid foundation, and I have been pretty happy with it - after hearing your advice about using a liquid instead of a powder for break-out prone skin, I might just stick with the same stuff. I think I just got a little excited about trying all sorts of new things!

Thanks for the tips! It might be a good idea for me to stick to cheap drugstore brands, at least until I figure out what I like. And I love the idea of using some turquoise shadow just above the cat eye line - I'll be sure to pick up some bright turquoise eye shadow (it's a colour I really like anyway).

Hi Jezzies, I'm looking for some makeup advice and suggestions. I'm going shopping for new makeup on Sunday, and I've never really bought anything besides foundation and mascara before, but I'd like to expand my face-making repertoire. I'd love to be able to do a subtle cat-eye with almost nude lips for everyday, and

I would like to echo all the 'yays'! I just cut my hair really short, too, and I'm liking it a lot so far. I did 1920s style finger curls today. :) Haven't noticed more attention from guys yet - but then I've just been bumming around my parents' place for the holidays.
