The problem is, most of the Gulf countries actually aren’t on our side here. They pay lip service to it, but at the end of the day, they’d rather see some Sunni religious regime in Syria than a secular state with a Kurdish state in the north. Most of the funding to ISIS comes from the Gulf states.
