I don’t watch it regularly but I do enjoy Miranda Sings on YouTube occasionally and I think Colleen Ballinger is very talented. But I tried watching two episodes of Haters Back Off and it was just really ridiculously depressing.

Reverse that. She had everything to gain and nothing to lose. If it worked, then she’d be mainstream and much, much richer. If it failed, she still had her Youtube gig. It was a smart play

An esoteric little niche comedy getting two seasons sounds pretty successful to me. Not everything on TV can run eleven seasons like MASH. ‘Peak TV’ not only means a high volume of content but also a high turnover of product.

In the past, I liked watching Pewdiepie, but stopped when he stopped playing games and became just.. well, plain stupid.
I still love watching Miranda Sings. I’m 31.

I wonder if part might be how they’re used to writing/performing for 10/15 minute videos. Having your timing compressed into such a short time as your modus operandi would make it rough to stretch out into longer form media. Lots of times when I see flopped Youtube stars in other media they splurged all their good…

A truly irritating, unappealing show. That lead character was so horrible and unfunny and, most importantly, boring and one note. I was very surprised it had a second season...or ever got picked up.

This got a 2nd season? Man. I made it five minutes and I bet that’s an average to above average endurance time.
