Honestly, this episode is when I realized this show was never going to climb above the “middling tier” for me. The opening 28 minutes had the opposite effect on me, and by the time the French Revolution came about, I was just irritated with the whole thing.

I was fine with it the first episode, but by the end of episode 2 I am very much annoyed. Episode 3 onwards and I feel like all the narration makes me want to drive my head into a wall.
