My personal feeling is that if you, as an artist, have something specific and concrete to say (to the point where you get noticeably upset when people have differing interpretations of your work) then you should make your message clear. Don’t make a complex, layered work of art and then get all snotty and indignant

God, that must be a tiring place to be, emotionally.

I agree with the general point (a lot of indie games have pretty lazy retro-style graphics) but... The Binding of Isaac? “Bland” is the last word I would use to describe its art. The art was done by the game’s creator, Ed McMillen, in a style he’d established with his previous games and Flash movies.

On the whole, I’m okay with pretentiousness (or at least willing to ignore it when the game speaks better than the creator ever can), but that quote was just absurd. You made a fairly excellent game that was hugely influential on the entire medium, pretty much entirely for the better. You can indulge in a little ego.

I love that Soulja Boy video.

“Yes, that’s more or less what ‘proud’ means. It’s a legitimate emotion and part of the human experience. So do you feel it towards this game or not?”

I’m not sure if I could have a conversation with him about his games, or games in general... but I do absolutely love The Fountain and I’m interested in hearing what more he has to say about that.

Played this a couple of years after it came out, fairly early in my grand return to gaming after 15+ years, and while I enjoyed the gameplay and found it fascinating and unique, I wasn’t especially struck by the story. (I would probably be among those who had issues with Blow’s “prose”, as mentioned in the article.)

I loved Braid, but Christ, is this guy an insufferable dickhead.

I never played this game when it came out, wish it would get an iOS release as I definitely would give it a go if I could play it while traveling.

I did play The Witness and that game was one of the best gaming experiences I’ve had ever. The exploration, intuitive progression, philosophical snippets and videos, and the

It’s always nice when the carefully stage-managed, anodyne routines of late-night television are replaced by other carefully stage-manage, anodyne routines.

1999 me, really wants that shirt bad so I can wear it at the club that night.

It’s hard to be humble when you’re better than everyone else.

It ain’t just you

Donald Glover may not have been too busy, but that shirt he’s wearing certainly is!

If you read past the first couple pages, this is clearly not a script to an actual proposed episode but Glover venting about the dissolution of the project. He takes a dig at Marvel preferring a feel-good minority show on Freeform (Cloak & Dagger) and makes wildly topical jokes that definitely wouldn’t fly by the time

I appreciate you saying that. I’m not usually very good at describing what (I think) makes something good, it’s so much easier to say what you don’t like about something bad.

I don’t want to defend Chevy Chase’s assholism, but there does seem to be plenty of evidence that Dan Harmon wasn’t entirely blameless in that little spat as well.

I respect all the work McGowan has done, and all the strife she’s had with the sexual harassment and all that... But this interview, yeesh, she seemed really... off. I don’t want to say mentally unstable, because there was talk of her having issues. But she really seemed scatterbrained and flighty.

Whenever I see her speak or read a tweet from her, I find it impossible to ignore that she is clearly not mentally well, and that makes me very uncomfortable. I agree that this article was in poor taste, but I genuinely hope her history and circumstances keep people from using her as a talk and reality show sideshow.
