Glass wasn’t “good,” but I had a lot of admiration for it and it was a lot more fun a moviegoing experience than I can say a lot of movies have been.

The poptimist era is so boring. Critics are terrified to treat any pop music as less than genius and ignore other genres.
Lots of flash whose lack of substance becomes more apparent the longer they go on.
I’m not much of a Kanye fan but I thought Yeezus was way better than this one.
I’d argue that he’s good at scouring trends and regifting it to the public and that’s about it. A lot of great hip-hop albums were released in the spring of 2010... needless to say, a lot of those kanye ideas that artists were “NOT trying” were in those releases. Just like Yeezus sounds like lame ass version of Death G…
I don’t think one could over estimate the roll sleep deprivation has had in Kanye’s mental health issues.
I don’t hate MBDTF, but I feel the same way about it I do Mulholland Drive: an auteur’s absurdly overrated “masterpiece” that might be more accessible and palatable than their other work, but is easily their least personal and therefore ultimately most uninteresting. “Hell of a Life,” “Blame Game,” and “Lost in the…
I 100% agree with you. I think Runaway is pretty great, but I think the rest is mediocre to bad. I understand that taste is subjective, but Kanye is a terrible singer (he even sounds bad when he’s autotuned), his lyrics are atrocious, and to me a lot of what people hail as genius is just overstuffed, over-produced…
Just finished. It’s no MBDTF, but enjoyed it thoroughly.
Reminder for all the LOL KANYE IS A CHRISTIAN ARTIST people:
He’s a better singer than Dylan, too.
The Chris Rock monologue at the end of Blame Game will be replaced with a Jim Gaffigan story about getting his kids ready for church
broke de broke
Did the private equity boys use the stock photo fund for new yachts?
Not to compare him to The Boomer’s Favorite, but if he’s going to have a terrible born-again period like Dylan, at least he appears to be speed-running it.
I hope he adds some CGI Banthas to those George Lucas versions!
Aretha Franklin’s feature on School Spirit is BEAMING right now.
His last album was critically successful, so, public persona eccentricities aside, his career seems to be doing fine.

On a serious note, this is situation that ravages marriages. We all change and grow over the course of a lifetime. While it isn’t essential to grow at the same time or in the same direction, when we don’t, and grace, understanding and forgiveness not granted, it could leave the couple at odds and eventually ripe for…
