I was WAY into this show as a kid. But you’re right. I can’t remember if it was the 2nd or 3rd season, but they killed off the majority of the main cast, and completely shifted the tone of the show and became virtually unrecognizable.
I would think movie verse has dibs on John Stewart. All references to GL in the Flarrowverse have alluded to Hal not John.

I remember it too. Really weird and not explained very well how it jumped from being one way to the other in one episode. I was looking forward to those cybernetic aliens intro’d at the end of season one to make things interesting (enemies of the invaders but planned to make use of us as food). Season two at least…
