JJ famously wasn’t a fan of Star Trek and I think it’s clear that the license was a shackle for him. Those movies should have been an original IP, let JJ make the movies he wanted and not turn Star Trek into a mindless action movie.
Yes! This, exactly. STID was mostly fine sci-fi action flick, but it was missing a certain je ne sais quoi that made it Star Trek.
Are we sure it’s really a salamander and not just some hyper evolved human from Star Trek: Voyager?
MASK could also be explained by Miles Mayhem using old transformer parts to build his vehicles.
“STID is reviled by the community of people dedicated to reviling things that are not exactly like other things in their imaginations, but the reviews (audience and critical) were generally very positive”
Well, we know at least one character doesn’t have feet.
People always mock the “trade routes” thing in Episode I, but I think the entire point was that Palpatine was able to use a rather minor dispute (since that’s essentially what people are complaining about) to get himself into power. It wasn’t some huge coup where he collected an army and took power by force.
FWIW, if you search for “Star Wars anti-cheese” on YouTube, there’s versions of the prequels that were edited to remove all of the silliness and eye-roll inducing lines and scenes but still keep the story in tact. Just watched them myself, and its actually interesting to see just how much is salvageable. About 20…
The current animated series, “Star Wars Rebels,” has made it canon that the Clones were put out to pasture in favor of regular human Stormtroopers. A few clones were retained as trainers but that was all.
Technically those of us that bought the film already own a b/w copy. Just turn down the color on your TV’s settings, and boom: instant alternate version. Want it silent?
Yes, but I think they refer to it as the GOP presidential race.
Not even mentioning the cameos!
The revival of the show has announced a slew of behind-the-scenes hires: Dan Harmon, Justin Roiland, Rob Schrab, Nell Scovell, Ernie Cline, Pat Rothfuss, Dana Gould, and Robert Lopez will all contribute scripts to the show.
Pendleton Ward and the Sugars? Dare I hope they bring some of their amazing ideas along with their animation?
We need to. Every year at around this time we get assailed by nosey religious types intent on interrogating us on why we should celebrate this holiday if we don’t believe the specific religious beliefs somewhat associated with it. As though they can just claim ownership over it and the positive emotions it embodies by…
That’s why Yoda was such a great character in that movie , the audience didn’t know that he was the Jedi master till he revealed himself , we all thought he was the quirky sidekick for comedy relief, it is one of the great performance audience fake outs in film.
Man. This is going to make for one long-ass opening crawl.
Actually, check out our rates of C-sections. Now check out the rates for other countries. Now scratch your head about why our women are undergoing major (dangerous) abdominal surgery, yet our infant mortality rates are worse.
